And in other news....Peco no longer sells starcraft pups

A sad day indeed. I was gonna buy a Starcraft from them next spring or summer since Ive had It with all things Fleetwood(personal opinion here) and have always had great luck with starcraft. I went on their website and they've removed any and all advertisements on their line of Starcraft pups. I did notice that they didnt bring in more inventory this year, just FW and Viking.
Now my nearest dealer is over 100 miles away.:S

RE: Leaky camper Aqualon, again!

Mike, mine was leaking in the same place with the poles. I did try Scotchguard "outdoor" on my seams and fixed the leaks immediately.

RE: mold/ mildew preventive spray?

I dont know if I have the evo 111 fabric or not, Ill have to check. Kinda on edge with the bleach, though. If I have a hard time finding anything else, then its to the bleach cabinet I go. The 10% sounded pretty good and Ill have a shiny bright camper again:)

RE: mold/ mildew preventive spray?

Mike Ive still got my original manual, and cleaning it really isnt the problem (lemon juice and salt per manual) its just getting to where it doesnt come back. I thought It was due to age since I let it dry for sometimes a few days while left open and walk in and theres mildew that returns while its open. I thought hot sun was supposed to kill it?

mold/ mildew preventive spray?

Im having a fairly big problem controlling the mildew on my canvas. Im talking when it rains and its already opened, and left to dry it still causes mildew. Im guessing it might be because my tenting is old being a 91, but its still in good shape otherwise. Anything on the market for it that wont interfere with waterproofing or anything?
Thanks

RE: Thinking of getting a PUP - have questions

Is rain a problem?
It can be in some pups. Ive had 3 pups now and they all leaked at some point with some heavy rain. Its not always in the canvas or seams or the obvious roof leaks. Look also in the corners of the cabinets. I have had rain start seeping/ dripping that have come in the inside walls in the cabinet area corners that I only saw with a flashlight and the look of damp wood. Luckily no damage. This happened with 2 of the 3 that Ive had. Both Fleetwoods. I think it might have something to do with the lift supports that raise the roof, with the water somehow following the supports down in the box itself but just a guess.

RE: Question for Rescued or anyone else who has a Destiny

Yeah, my 91 roanoke did come with a step but I also use a small stool. Ive got 2 holes in the underside frame that holds the step, but due to years of in/out of camper, the holes have wallowed out a little so I just took it off and use a stool.

RE: How many have lowered the roof while stabs down?

Yeah, I always just barely touch the ground with the stabbies. I was just kinda concerned with the way its mentioned in the manual with all caps and black bold lettering. Kinda made it seem like I was doomed for a damaged trailer and there was nothing I could do about it.:)
Anyway, thanks for the replys

How many have lowered the roof while stabs down?

Yeah, I just did just that this past w/e. Just goes to show that being in a hurry gives birth to sputs more times than not:S Anyways, how can I tell if any "damage" was done as stated in the manual? Bent frame or binding roof?

RE: Whats up with CHAIRS to hold campsites?

Yeah, I can see why this would be a problem if you didnt have a toad. But yeah the tags with the dates should solve that.
Anyway, I didnt know If I was breaking an unwritten CG rule or something:)
Thanks

Whats up with CHAIRS to hold campsites?

I might be a little behind on the CG thing since all Ive ever done is boondock, but is this a common practice? I ran into someone actually from rv dot net( not from this particular forum) In a MH who was very nice. Stayed a couple of sites away from me and they had a "rv dot net" sign up, so I thought it was kinda cool to see someone from the boards. Anyway, people they knew were staying next to me and came up and asked me If I had seen the chair at my campsite in kinda a snide tone. Apparently they had lounge chair "reserved" the site I was in, but no chair to be found. The guy actually thought I was hiding it or something. I told him the office said these sites were available and I guess the host moved the chair.
Whats the general consenses on this and is it common at CGs?:)
